What development research keeps missing about AI

A few thoughts as I join the Global Development Conference 2025 in Clermont-Ferrand, promoted by the Global Development Network.

As AI becomes part of education, work, and public life, a new and largely overlooked inequality may be emerging. Not about access to devices or connectivity, but about tiered levels of reasoning power. Who can afford the premium AI that truly thinks with them, and who cannot.
